About the Authors

rian Mitchell holds an honors degree and PhD in Psychology from the University of Sydney. On leaving the academic world he spent some years in clinical practice, before establishing a performance management consulting organization that achieved widespread success in international markets.

E

van Mitchell graduated with an honors degree in English Literature and Psychology honors major from the University of Sydney. He worked for twelve years in the hospitality industry, serving as a waiter, sommelier, and front-of-house manager in some of Australia's most celebrated restaurants. In addition to writing he practices as a consultant to the restaurant industry.

The writing careers of the father and son authors began with a play Ethical Chairs which was sold to a commercial theatre company. A recent work, The Passion of Herr Goethe, was written in collaboration with the writer and historian Iain McCalman.

Explore with them the sensuous and intricate dynamics of the dining experience in their upcoming book: The Psychology of Dininghow dining out changes people's lives. The first four chapters will be serialized on this site as Youthe Diner, commencing June 30, 2008.
